Job Description
The County of Stettler is seeking applications from interested individuals for their GIS Technician position. The candidate will be responsible for the continuing development and maintenance of the County's Geographic Information System. Current projects include: Asset Management through a GIS, Rural Addressing, and non-geographic data management. Day to day activities include: customized mapping for internal departments and external requests, administration of the County's Automatic Vehicle Locating system, updating of Land Use Maps and management and digitization of data layers.
The County of Stettler offers a competitive salary and benefits. The position is full time.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have post secondary education in a technical degree or other related disciplines and be proficient with mapping products such as ESRI's ArcGIS and/or Intergraph's GeoMedia with greater than 2 years of practical experience. Local government experience would be an asset. The candidate should have excellent interpersonal and public relations skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
