Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent technical and interpersonal skills to work with our talented team in delivering outstanding service to our clients.  In this position you will be responsible for using GIS tools and mapping applications to build, manipulate and maintain data, produce thematic maps and support mapping for projects. Your workflow will consist of taking assigned work from Geomatics team lead or project team members, producing desired drawings, figures, etc., submitting them to team lead for QA/QC, and working through the edit process with project team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience using AutoCAD essential.
  • Knowledge of survey data, engineering drawings and site plans a strong asset.
  • Experience and education in cartography/map presentation (knowledge of coordinate systems & projections, vector & raster data formats) an asset.
  • Knowledge of GIS theory an asset.
  • Familiarity with graphics packages such as CorelDraw or Illustrator an asset.
  • Knowledge or experience with other GIS software (Google Earth, Global Mapper, Manifold, etc.) an asset.
  • Knowledge of environmental industry a strong asset.
  • Experience with GPS software / hardware an asset.
  • Experience with large format plotters an asset.
  • Experience with scripting or coding (VBScript, Javascript, AutoLisp) or a strong desire to learn

Job Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to work with intermediate staff and within the project team on various projects of differing complexity
  • Post-secondary education in a related field
  • Highly proficient with computers and various Microsoft programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
