As Geomatics Specialist, you provide advice to senior ministry decision makers and work to maximize the potential of GIS and related information technologies. Building strong professional working relationships, you consult with stakeholders and clients on priorities and improvements related to data sets and data requirements and discuss the needs of clients and users to ensure technical products meet expectations. An effective communicator and leader, you provide advice and guidance to staff, agencies and clients and manage projects though working closely with the client to establish priorities, identify resource requirements and manage issues. Utilizing knowledge gained from past experience, you perform complex spatial and statistical analysis projects for strategic and legislative decision makers and support the development of systems and tools that facilitate the collection, management and reporting of data. Managing the integration of expertise, knowledge information and technology, you develop and maintain data bases and data sets and ensure security, integrity, currency and compatibility through the developments of efficient quality assurance processes.
