The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations is responsible for stewardship of Provincial Crown land and natural resources, and protection of B.C.’s archaeological and heritage resources. Overseeing a land base of 94.8 million hectares, the Ministry supports the sustainable management of forest, mineral and land resources, the prosperity, viability and competitiveness of industries that use them, and public access for a wide range of activities such as hunting, fishing and recreation. The Ministry is responsible for policy development, operational management and implementation, and oversees over 50 statutes and associated regulations.
The GIS Analyst conducts advanced spatial data analysis in support of program and management decision making on resource planning, land management or other program issues.

Job Qualifications
Qualifications for this role include:
- Degree in resource management or related field, or a diploma in geographic information systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience designing and developing customized spatial applications, models and/or other geospatial deliverables.
- Experience developing, maintaining and managing data and metadata.
- Experience delivering spatial analysis projects in support of client’s business needs.
- BC Class 5 Driver’s License
