Job Description
Capgemini has an opening for a senior level GIS Consultant. The successful candidate will work with as interdisciplinary team consisting of GIS solution architects, GIS technical and business analysts, and subject matter experts.
The preferred candidate(s) will possess a strong technical understanding of a variety of GIS software, applications and solutions with an emphasis on the Utility Industry. They will possess excellent communication skills and have the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions. They will have a university degree, or a diploma from an accredited technical GIS program and at least 5 years of relevant, practical work experience.
Experience with projects utilizing electrical utility, cadastral or hydrology based data is preferred. Current experience managing geomatics requirements including; scope and budget preparation, identification of data requirements, and working in a team environment is desirable. The right candidate will know how to be proactive with client demands.
Job Qualifications
skills required include:
•Hands on experience using the ESRI ArcGIS, Smallworld or Intergraph suite of products (more then one suite of products is desired)
•Database and data management abilities
•Strong understanding of Enterprise GIS
•Strong understanding of GIS based web technologies
•Strong understanding of spatially enhanced RDBMS like Oracle Spatial or MS SQL Server 2008
Industry experience with electrical utilities or power generation companies is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will be an independent problem solver, enjoy mentoring and working in a team environment.
