Job Description
Tesera Systems Inc. is expanding its interdisciplinary geomatics, information management, environmental resource planning and analysis consulting Team. Tesera is seeking a motivated individual to join our Team based in Cochrane, Alberta.

The successful candidate will have 2+ years experience applying GIS and analysis skills in a variety of sectors. Duties will include supporting resource analysis projects, environmental impact assessment projects, modelling, visualization, mapping, and data management. They will be highly motivated and willing to research, explore, adapt/adopt/develop and apply technologies in new and innovative ways.
Job Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following base-level skills:
- Strong working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS 9.3 software and extensions;
- Strong knowledge of data formats and coordinate systems;
- Translation experience using ESRI and packages such as FME an asset;
- Experience with a variety of spatial models and modelling principles;
- Strong working knowledge of Model Builder and Python use within the ESRI environment;
- Proven ability to work well independently and as part of a high performing Team;
- Proven technical writing skills;
- Strong organizational, problem solving, and communication skills; and
- Proven ability to independently learn new software, models and techniques.
In addition, the following skill sets will be beneficial:
- Working knowledge of the energy, environmental management, forestry sectors;
- Experience working with resource planning tools;
- Statistical analysis expertise on large datasets; and
- Proficiency working with relational databases (e.g.: SQL, Oracle or MS Access).
